I tinted my fronts with thelightest tint they have, also here in So.California it is not legal. With the black on black in looks a bit darker but still lets you see in and gives a good look. I now find when I see a police car in my mirror or in front of me I open my sun roof shade to bring in more light. Maybe a bit paronoid now[:@]

 

When I lived in CA I had a Honda with tint on the front windows, installed when I lived in AZ. When you register a car in CA from out of state the DMV does a quick check of the car, mostly for matching VINs I think. Anyway, knowing front tint is illegal and the sherrif's office does some of these inspections I had the front windows rolled down so when he got to the car it was accessible and ready for inspection.

I don't like to tint my windows past legal. I simply don't want to give the cops any reason to pull me over, let alone a small one like that.
