Smile goodbye G8, hello H3

Well I finally did it!, after months of searching I signed the papers today to purchase a 2008 H3 Alpha w/ luxury pkg 20,000kms (12,500 miles) and traded in my 2009 Pontiac G8.

Now the fun begins!

Still debating between 16" or 18" rims
BF Goodrich All Terrains or Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs
One thing I have decided is to dechrome it, level it, and put on 33's

This site has been great in helping me get this far in the process and i'm sure it will continue to do so in the future.

Glad to have finally joined the club! lol

Welcome from another 08 Alpha owner and I'm in the Detroit, MI area.

If you ever want to wheel that thing PM me your email address and I will add you to our list for wheeling trips in MI, OH, IN, IL an ONT. WQe try to get out at least 5-7 times per year.

Welcome from Connecticut.

I prefer less rim, more tire.
I vote for 16's & Duratrac 33's

That's what I run, my truck on the right. Truck next to me has 35's on 16's

If you plan to wheel it, air down the tires, etc. I'd go with 16's. If it mainly just going to look the part then it's really just what you like the looks of better. Probably handle a bit better on-road with 18's, but since you're going to put BFG A/Ts or Duratracs it doesn't sound like on-road performance is your top priority.

The G8 was just a V6, but I still really liked the car just wanted something more practical in the winter months.

This will be my first SUV ever so not too sure how much I will offroad it right away, are 18's with 285/65/18 tires still sufficient to wheel with?

all depends on the type of tire you have.
