So I went back to my mechanic after all the work that I had a few weeks ago to have him work on the tune on my truck.

All I can say is holly crap GM left a lot on the table!

The stock tune had -3 degrees of timing at around 1800 rpm with a moderate throttle. We upped that to +21 degrees and what a difference! No more flat spots, no more lagging around. I have several causeways around here (taller bridges crossing the rivers) and it no longer has to kick down to get over them.

He has changed timing, shift points and who knows what else, all over my head. I love this truck again!!!

If you want to make a huge difference in performance, get your truck tuned by someone or I would think even the mail order tunes will make a huge difference.

Glad you're pleased. I went for a mail order tune (am in russia) from black bear performance. I was well pleased. Night and Day difference, and no issues. Had it on for a couple of years now.

 

I want a BlackBear tune for my daily driver Tahoe.
