Default Geared Hubs

Last time I took the H1 out, the truck started making a awful grinding noise from the front left tire. It was worse somehow when I put it in 4 Hi. I just finished tearing the hub down to find the problem. The gears and bearing look ok to me. But the inside hub housing is all scuffed up. What do you guys think?

I figured it out. Turns out the grinding noise was coming from the differential and was loudest in the driver front hub. I guess it is time to switch to Detroit Lockers. Anyone have any suggestions on where to buy the parts? Or a guide on how to convert the guts of the differential?

Go with a selectable elocker. For daily driving the eatons are the best but lack a limited slip. The auburns have a very aggressive limited slip and selectable locker, thus they make some noise street driving. What ever you do don't go with the detroit.
