sorry but didnt know where to post this, i want to know how i figure out what gears i have since i was told my '08 H3 has 4.56 or 4.10 gears... is there a way to tell from the VIN?

 

When I took my 06 H3 in they told me what they were by the vin, then I looked it up online and found out what they were talking about, I just didn't know what I was looking at. Here is the website I found that was usefull. All I did was type 2008 Hummer H3 specs in google, it says yours is 4.560:1, hope this helps

This one is very easy:

ALL I5s regardless of year have a 4:56 grear ratio front and rear.
ALL V8s regardless of year have a 4:10 Gear ratio front and rear.

NO, the Adventure Package (I5) nor the OffRoad Package (V8) changes the front or rear gear ratios.
