@MixManSC

Thank you so much MixMan for the explanation. And your confirmation!
Much appreciate it.

Yes, these are also used on the C5500 chassis.
I recently found that out. I had a load of soil delivered, and was surprised to see the same hood straps on that GM truck.

A few years back, for an ambulance service we used to work with, I ordered the same ones for a C5500 chassis ambulance.
When do OEM parts come with instructions? That part number is NOT in the GM database!
Again the OEM part #'s:
Part Number: 12499435
Supersession(s): 12498995

Here you go, accusing a long-time member in good standing to be a lier.

And posting members private info on this forum is the pinnacle of stupidity. And you have achieved that pretty quickly. Well done!

Sorry HUMMERZ, 100% incorrect in this case. This latch is for SE H2s.

88962948 is OEM part number not 88962941.

It shows in every dealer’s database. You are a troll.

You sir, continue to demonstrate that you are a moron with every additional post. Accusing a long-time member in good standing to be a lier. It is YOU who is the lier. And everyone reading this can now see that.

Doubling down on your stupidity demonstrates that clearly. Interfering for the second time with something I am trying to sell makes you a 100% ***. Hiding behind the internet.

Hope others on this forum take note of your ignorance. You know nothing about the H2.

Posting members private info on this forum is the pinnacle of stupidity. And you have achieved that pretty quickly.

Had them shipped to Canada. Not cheap, but nice to have. Mine were completely corroded.
Seems that anything bilet aluminum that is chrome has corroded in a few years. Corrosion starts where steel meets aluminum, and in this case at the stainless steel pins that hold the rubber strap. Ditto for my locking gas cap from DefenderWorx. I am on my third one, and it is ready to fall off. I am on my third set of chrome-peeling OEM wheels (they last about 3 years)
I think someone else had OEM chrome hood handles on ebay also, but I already have a 2nd set.
The steel and plastic chrome parts on the H2 are still all original, and this limited edition has tons of it.
"lier"!

Hello Tainter,

Want to express my sincere Thanks for finding that confirmation!
Although the part number 88962948 is not the same as my 88962941, what this does show is that there are other part numbers for this part, for which Hummerz wrongly stated that there are not.

So far I have found 6 different GM parts number for these chrome hood latches.
I can only speculate at this point why there is both a 88962948 and 88962941 part number.
All I can tell you that I was told this is a genuine GM part. So it it?
May have been early production (that is why that part number can not be found, and it shows long-gone www.hummer.com on the install sheet header)? Or it is a typo on the spec sheet, or ?
Anyways, I will make some calls and see what the truth is.

Much appreciate your help with this.
You and MixManSC are fine examples of what this Hummer forum SHOULD be all about. Helping other fellow Hummer owners.

For a decade or longer.
It is not uncommon for GM accessory parts to get shipped with installation sheets. Even all my OEM wheels did. Every single one, bought during various years.
