Default Front end vibration

I just bought a 2008 H3 Alpha with 20k miles on it. I'm having a vibration coming from the front end when I first start it. I can't find where it's coming from. It will do it at idle and when I first take off in reverse or drive. I can also feel it in the brake and gas pedal. It goes away after it's been running for a while. To me, it sounds like metal vibrating but I can't pinpoint it. I've looked through other threads but nothing has helped so far. Any ideas where to start looking?

Thanks for the help.

I have the same year and model, and had the same problem. The dealer is aware of this in our H3's. The coolant lines going through the firewall vibrate and create the noise on start up, but as the engine heats up and idle settles in, it goes away. The dealer will use nylon tie straps to cinch them up (kind of a band aid fix, but it works).

Thank you. I'll have a look at it.

I would also recommend contacting your local dealership. Please feel free to keep me posted. Thank you in advance.

Indyone: I agree with Broken Halo. I have had 3 08 Alphas and 2 have had this "vibration" issue. I took the first one in and all they did was place 2 zip ties to the metal tubes coming from the firewall. The second time, I saved the time and fuel and did it myself.

If this does not fix the issue, then I would see my dealer. With only 20K on an 08 you are still under the 4/50 Bumper to Bumper warranty. You can find a HUMMER certified dealer listing on the hummer.com site if you do not know of a local HUMMER certified dealer in your area.

I appreciate the info guys. It sounds like something I could do myself...if I can just find the right lines. I never claimed to know anything about the inside of an engine compartment.

If that is not the fix. the coolent lines are to the left of the heater lines. Might try there also. Start the engine cold with the hood up and touch different items going through the firewall. You should be able to feel and poss. hear the vibration. When the vibration gets more pronounced you are closer to the issue.
