i know it has been a long time since i have posted anything but i need some help. i think that my front dif. may be going out.
whenever i stop firmly i hear, what sounds like gears grinding. it is def metal on metal and it sure as he** does not sound like brakes. has anybody had this problem (and i am sure some of u had) any insight would help thanks

 

How many miles you have on it? Brakes can sound pretty bad when they get to the very end...

 

my front diff went, but I heard a bearing like noise (think pulsing sound like scha, scha, scha.. etc.) when I would coast - not when accelerating. Noise was loudest while coasting at ~1,500 - 2,000 rpms. Vehicle had 3,000 miles on it at the time. Dealer replaced diff. immediately.

 

i only have 26000 i have never had brakes that soon. i am not really hard on the brakes to
