Front brake pad replacement
It is inspection time for my hummer. It needs new pads. Should I expect any surprises changing them myself? Are there any special tools required? I searched the topic but did not see a thread devoted to replacing the pads.
The easiest brake job you will ever do !
seriously takes 10 min
take off wheels, remove pins from the two shafts that hold the pads in, remove the two shafts, spread calipers, remove pads, put new pads in !!
why all disk brakes are not like this i dont know !
all you need really is a pair of pliers and a c clamp

Pretty straight forward, brakes 101 kinda job. I like using a welders vise grips/lockin pliers Cinstead of the trusty old C clamp.
brach; Photo shoot it and you do the thread.
