Default Fording water 24"......

Ok I am cruising youtube watching every H3 vid I can find and now I have a question about the ability to "ford" through 24" of water.

I am guessing that 24" is about up to the top of the factory tires? And this is above the floorboard level on the H3.

I think I saw somewhere an H3T owner who made it through deeper water but some came in through the floorboards.

Anybody been in deep enough to have water come inside???

I have seen H3s go through 3+ feet of water with 35" tires on. There was minor water in the cab after the mudhole though.

24" is roughly 1 foot from the top of the factory tires.

If anyone has done it, I'm sure it's you...I've seen your crazy wheeling pics! Still, how could you be that deep for 30 seconds? Your intake would be submerged...

Sorry, no H3 yet, still lurking here!

...I figured 16" of wheel and about 10" of tire, but I guess those tires (even the stock ones) are pretty big.

Is stock tire 32"?

The factory tires on the H3 are either 32 inches tall for the base, or 33 inches tall for the Adventure package. 24" of water would come to 10" below the top of a 32" tire (32-24) or 11" below the top of a 33" tire (33-24). Roughly one foot. Sorry I didn't give the exact numbers in the original post.

Yeah it was, but nothing really got in, I think the momentum and how many corners and bends there are kept it from getting into the engine, I opened the air box and they're was just a few drops in there... lucky I guess
