Mine don't fold from the inside... That common?

One, yes. Both, not so much. Are you sure you are holding down the fold switch long enough and that the switch is not in the mirror adjustment position?

how long do I have to hold it? When I do press it the mirror adjusts but doesn't fold...

Mine stopped working so I took them apart while I was at my inlaws. There was lots of rust inside them. Cleaned them up and used spray grease on them. Then Put them back on. Now the drivers side works good but the passenger side is still not working very good. So I plan to take it back apart and work it over now that I have access to my own tools. Youhave to take the door panel off to get them off.

Only a couple of seconds and the left/right mirror selector switch needs to be in the middle position.

From what I have read, most pre 06' model probably won't work due to rust and circuit corrosion. Mine try to work but never fold. I need to do like others and take them off and try to clean them good. Still may not work, but i tried. I've also read that 06' and up are what people are replacing them with. Expensive though.
