FM1 Sound
When I got my 2003 a few weeks ago I had the same problem. On a 2003 the stereo antenna is on the roof (all later years they moved the antenna to the passenger side vent). Mine was damaged. I took a chance and bought a Metra amplified antenna.
Specifically this one.
Turns out it is an exact fit for the hole and the factory roof antenna is also amplified so the power wire is also right there. The only thing I had to do was change the connector for the power wire. I did not even need to use the long antenna cable that came with the Metra antenna.
Otherwise - I have no idea what might be wrong on yours. My reception is great now though and it was terrible before.

Btw is there any FM antenna amplifier that helps
It seems to be the worst with the cheapest Chinese LED headlights and offroad lights. This is due to their not really meeting any sort of electronics standards for RF interference and noise.
The particular headlights that I am using are top notch, they are a Chinese brand but orders of magnitude better quality than most all others. They are actually OEM for some other brands too. I've not yet gone with any aftermarket LED off road lights yet but one mod I'm in progress on is replacing the DRL's with some killer LED's and replacing the rear wiper switch with one from a Tahoe that has fog light button (I like to use OEM stuff as much as reasonably possible).
On antenna amplifiers. Reviews on them seem to be a mixed bag. If I were to add one, I'd put an on/off switch onto it so that I could turn it off if I want to.
I know the 2003 H2's with the roof mounted FM antenna are an amplified antenna from the factory. The later models with the antenna on the side vent are not amplified.
H2Miami - get these, this exact listing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/291949485766
Trust me on this. Just because some others might look the same does not mean they will be. I have confirmed 100% that these from this seller are genuine Tuff Plus A0101 lights. The beam pattern is stunning and perfect like HID with a razor sharp cutoff. You will also need to get a pair of 9007/H4 adapters which are also on eBay for ten bucks or so. I have done literally several days of research on these headlights. Google "wranglerforum best no name led" if you want to read a lot more about them. Myself a a couple of other really looked into them in depth and found other getting some that looked the same and finding they are not, etc. It got quite heated between some members and the thread ended up getting locked. lol These easily are every bit as good as most all of the top name brand led headlights which are triple or more the cost.
