Default First H3

Greetings..still getting used to navigating the forum. We just got an H3 Lux and love it so far. Planning on using it as the wife's daily driver and snow travel here in VT. Also, lots of class 4 road exploration. I'm planning some performance upgrades and possibly a rear locker, since ours didn't come with one. I actually find the 3.5L adequate despite the reviews. We also have a Tundra 5.7 and CJ-7 4.2, so the H3 is our economy vehicle...it replaced a RAV4!!!

Welcome to the forum! Get some pics up of the toy! What performance upgrades were you looking on doing? A rear locker is an awesome idea! You might want to contact Broide at ridgedemon.com and see if he has an entire axle assembly w/ the better gears rather than just the locker itself...

I'm gonna check that sight out...I was under the impression that all H3' had the 4.56 axle gearing, but not all had the low transfer case gears or locker. I'll try to get pics on here soon.

Hello and Welcome from MI! You are 1/2 right on the grearing. H3/H3Ts with the I5 (3.5L or 3.7L) all came with 4:56s. H3H3Ts with the Alpha option (5.3L V8) all came with 4:10s.

PIX!!!!!

Thanks for clarifying about the axle gearing. My buildup will progress as most do, according to budget. I'm hoping for a decent winter as far as work goes, and come spring be able to have some fun. Its just great to have such a solid platform to start with..My wife loves the H3 and there is room for all the stuff our 1 year old daughter needs...she already likes four wheeling too. Pics will happen soon...My wife is the tech person here so she'll post them, I, just a simple carpenter!!
