After getting my hands dirty on the spare tire carrier every time I have to access the rear interior, I decided to add a handle of some kind to the carrier. I've used several different types of shop stands and power tools with assist handles with internal bearings so the handles can revolve as you turn them, so I went looking for that. This is what I came up with:

It works well, but there was one larger size and if I do it on another truck I'll go with that. Or maybe not, the carrier metal isn't as thick as I figured it would be, the drill bit punched right through. Less than 1/4" I'm thinking. Anyway, I'm satisfied with it, works like a champ.
