Default Extended Warranty

Hey guys!

I went to the dealership today to have some work done and thought about buying an extended warranty. Does anyone have one?
They offered me one for 2400 dollars. 4 years coverage for 45000 miles over where I am at on my odometer.
They told me examples where H2's transmissions mess up...."some thing that will break with the front drive to the rear" then the heads go bad......then the ac system goes bad and thats 2000 fix.
He names off all that blah blah blah!
Would you guys buy it or just leave it and if something breaks then just fix it.

My H2 had 11,000 miles on it when I bought it one year ago. I bought the 7 year/70,000 mile extended warranty for $3,400. (I drive about 8,000 miles per year so the duration/miles of the warranty are a good fit.) To date I have had $3,600 worth of repairs done, all electrical except for a leaking seal in the front differential. In this case it was well worth the money because I can take it to the Hummer dealer and not have to go the cheap route to get it fixed. I get first class service from them (Findlay Cadillac in Henderson).

Even with the repairs, the wife and I still love the H2 more than any other vehicle we have ever owned. Well, maybe the new '75 Trans Am with a 455 when we were both 23 would be a close toss up. She loved making the tires squeal.

I would buy it as long as it's a GMPP warranty. I dont trust the aftermarket warranty companies.

Well I am just wondering if all those problems are common on H2's or is he feeding me some bull.
Oh by the way they only offer aftermarket warrantys. They said GMAC warrantys are not available.

If your still under your Hummer factory warranty you would be able to get the GMPP plan on your hummer. You don't need to to buy at your local dealer there are a handful of websites online selling these plans. I bought my GMPP extended warranty through http://www.hummerextendedwarranty.com several months back. They gave me the best price after calling them. Got a 36 month or 48,000 mile coverage from what was currently on my odometer. My hope is I don't have to use it for convenience sake, however my pocket book always tell me with these things that I want to be like VegasGuy and have my Hummer serviced at or above the cost of the warranty.

Warranty an absolute. Like others said, make sure it's GMPP. I bought my new 2005 Silverado 4x4 with warranty 5yr 100K and at 90K was sent in mail a form for new extended GMPP warranty on my truck and turns out it wasn't. Lied over the phone and false advertisment case. H2 Tranny is going to see trouble at 80K and electrical system will fail on dash lighting and steering wheel lights. Just purchased used H2 2007 LUX and purchased the extended warranty on the spot with 23k on it. $3500.00
