Smile Exhaust..pretty excited

Long story short, I picked up this exhaust today for $350-new in box. GM Dual Cat-Back Touring Exhaust System-Part #17802015
Guy only had one, but I also picked up the under body shields from him.
Nice guy selling from home. I got a little better deal on both because I picked up here in Houston-worked out a deal. Black powder coated tips to come when I find some decent ones cheap...like me
He has several shields left, but says he can't get more. $249 shipped is a pretty good deal! Same guy from another thread earlier in the week.

Looks cool. I'm also interested in your thoughts on the sound. Impressions?

Can he get another exhaust? What would be the price for the shields if I picked up? Could be there next weekend.

Sorry for the delayed responses.

I'm pretty satisfied with the sound. I can really hear a difference at start-up. It calms down when it drops to idle. Off the line at normal speeds it sounds nice and low, just my opinion.
My concerns about drone have been eliminated. At cruising speed there isn't a huge difference. I can hear a difference with a lower hum, but nothing that's bothered me. I like it. Maybe I can make a clip of it and post it.
For the price I paid, I still think it was a great deal.

ShirtaDay-I don't know the guy I got it from. Just follow the link from my first post to get to him, via the shields. Shoot him an e-mail. I think he said this was his only exhaust. Plenty of shields...he'd maybe knock off $20 if you pick it up. Houston is a big place, so it totally depends on where in "Houston" you're going if $20 is worth the drive.

On a side not about the shields, I just gave up for the night. Hummerguy mentioned in another thread that the shields don't exactly line up. I'm going to have to use my jack to get this thing on. That mother is none too flexible. Maybe it's just me. It would probably help a lot if I could/would get it off the ground a little. I'll wait for daylight.

I had the same problem. The holes on the front of the transfer case shield were about 1/2 inch off. I used an air saw and just opened the holes and it mounted up fine after that. Good luck!

I should of just got the jack out last night. It helped tremendously to get the shields up snug. Took about 10 minutes to finish what I'd been trying to do for an hour. I'm not looking forward to the next oil change though.
I wonder if they tweaked them after early production. The one I got was made in March of 05. I didn't know that until I opened the box. If you buy from the guy on ebay, just know its new old stock.

Mine also had the 05' build date on the box. Got them for a good deal, took 10 min to modify them to fit right. I also purchased off ebay. Probably the same guy lol.
