Exhaust follow up---sucks...
to be me right now. So, like my earlier post said, I ordered the Magna Flow Exhaust for the H2. Installed it, didn't quite fit right. I.e. I had to use so aftermarket rubber exhaust hooks to make it hold on to the brakets.
Also, the is a metal box underneath the rear hatch right in the middle that hits it, plus the air suspension boot for the rear (I think its the air suspension) and now I'm sure. Everything is going fine, drove around for a while. Pull up in my drive way and I hear a small thud, twice. I get out to see what it could be and the rear of the truck as lowered and the suspension wont raise. I get a message :service air suspension". I'm thinking that the exhaust was too close to the boot and melted it.
So, now I've got to go to the dealer, probably have them tell me the exhasut was the cause, replace the exhasut ($800), and get a new air suspension boot thingy, however much that costs. I bough the exhaust from planet Magna Flow, and they wont take back the exhasut because it was installed (another $500). Well how in the hell would I know if the exhaust fit or not unless I tried to install it?
Really, the exhaust does not fit correctly, I know some of you guys have them installed, but what they sent me must have been put together on a bad day, becuase it fits good, until you get to the tail pipe.
So, I've learned a valuable lesson today. I'll let the dealer deal with my truck from now on. what would have cost me $1000 has now turned into god knows how much and I have a brand new exhasut that I can't even use.

I seem to remember there being two exhaust systems... one for air and one without....
Let me know.... I might want an exhaust... I don't have air....
What did it sound like?

well Planet Magnaflow only has one listed and it doesn't specify a difference. I feel cheated actually. Their refund policy is only on items not installed. Well, how am I supposed to find out if it's the right itme if I don't install it?
What did what sound like? The exhaust? The sound is real nice, a bit louder than stockat low rpms but its very throaty...to bad I' wont be able to use it.

maybe you should find out if it is designed for a truck w/o air. If so you should be able to sell to someone here I would think. At least you would take as big a hit that way.
No, didn't even talk to them. They listed the exhaust I bought for my model and year. No other mention of a difference. I will call them and see if they budge on this.
Anyway, took it to the dealer this am, I should get it back today. New stock exhaust, and fix the air suspension is gonna get me by $1600.
So I'll give you guys first dibs on the new exhaust. $400 shipped for the first taker. BTW this IS for non-air suspension H2's model year 03 to 04.
