Just recently I've started to hear a whistling noise coming from the engine compartment when I accerlerate, especially noticeable going up hill. It almost sounds like the sound from a blower, or a car with Gear Drive...although it sounds cool, I'm worried it might be a symptom to something big ready to break. Heads? Anyone experience this?

 

Do you hear it when you are at idle? Check around the intake manifold.

 

Ok, finally took it to the dealer (the inability of the transmission not shifting into 3rd gave me no choice=0), come to find out the tranny is cooked! I need a whole new SERTA! (f*ck m3!) and of course how convenient that the truck's about 5k miles out of the 50k drivetrain warranty!

I can't remember where, but I heard someone mention that depending on the VIN number, certain 2006 H3's carried the 100k powertrain warranty that all 2007 & up models did. Does anyone know if this is true???
