Hello,

I have a 2003 Hummer H2 that I bought used with 36,000 miles on it which I love. There is a tapping noise coming from the engine when the car is at idle at all times and temperatures. I tried changing the oil and even ran some gm top end cleaner through the engine figuring it might be carbon build up from the low mileage. It seems to have gotten a little quiter but it is still there and it seems to be coming from low in the engine.

Any suggestions?

something is worn in the valve train and needs replacing. Not sure the specific design of you motor but would guess it to be a lifter or rocker. Not expensive but it is a hummer.
