Eldorado horn question

Eldorado horn question
I installed the 4 eldo horns in my H3 years ago and totally forgot the details on how I did it which stinks since I want to do it on the 07 I just bought. Searching the site someone suggested adding a relay when installing them. I bought a relay and the instructions showed a fusible link that ran to the battery. What size fuse should I used for the link? Any help would be great. Thanks!

any help;
a fuseable link is usually hi current,? so try a 30 a fuse. if it don't blow you're all set. or go higher .
as long as you have a fuse smaller than the wire, ok. did they not spec the amps?
then again, how many times have we had a blown fuse lately? its almost like tires that don't wear out!
they are for short circuits so just do a nice job running the wires.

You do not need a separate relay, the Deluxe 4 horn set did not use one OEM with the Cadillacs, and neither did the 3 horn options for Olds & Buicks, no reason for you to use one either. The draw on all those is low. The H3 already has a horn fuse and a horn relay in the fuse box.

So I run the power from the car to the first horn, then tap into that wire to go to the other three horns? Also, the horns I got were from an 80's Eldo so they are the 4 snail horns. There's no mail connector on them, but there's a plug that has a black wire and a green wire coming from it. Is the black the wire the one I tap into? I'm assuming the green is the ground which I won't need, right? I swear I did this 4 years ago, but I'm having a hard time remembering how I did it. Thanks.

The Cadillac horns I was referring to are early 70s, mine are from a 71, they only have the male plug for the green power wire, the body of the horn grounds by contact with the vehicle. Big snail, two small snails, and a trumpet.
As long as I can ever remember GM uses a green wire for + to horns. If you have two connectors, I doubt direction is important, but you could always test one with a couple pieces of wire off a battery?
Good luck.

The 4 Eldorado horns are mounted near where the stock one is. One of them uses the stock hole and the others use three other holes that won't interfere with the front grille when you put it back on.
