I am in Cincinnati and it woke my son up at 5:37 this morning. I slept right though it. I did not realize what woke him up untill I got to work and my business partner told me.

Yes we did talk about that in another thread. Earthquakes, stock market, housing, weather....I guess if you say something long enough you will eventually be right. I love it, the guy that said 30 years will be dead in 30 years so he won't have to eat crow whenever it doesn't happen.

Is it normal to have an aftershock 9 hours later? We just had one here in downtown Chicago.

One by the fault was 4.5, and they said it's not normal for this kind of fault.

Just wondering since this is new to me

You can have aftershocks for days and weeks after the initial earthquake. Some can approach the original quake in intensity.

the one benefit of the aftershocks is that you can be better prepared, since you know some are coming. you can't do $hit about it, but at least you know there's more fun tobe had. . . . .[>:]

Well, I thought about that. It is better to be prepared. I'll take earthquakes over these damn tornadoes anytime. At least an earthquake lasts maybe a minute at the most. These storms out here are terrible where I live. It's getting worse every year.
