Default E Break Stuck

Long story short, I am in the process of changing my oil & the e break pushed all the way back when trying to engage it.

It's now stuck.
I'm going to get a look at the underside & see what is going on with the cables.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Edit: E Break line(s) look broken. I will upload pics in a minute.

E-break line to passenger side rear is cleaved. The driver's side line is pull taught.
Ideas to disengage?

Looks like dry rot. I am not in "need" of using these since it's flat a board here, but it's something that needs to be fixed before the next oil change. Easy procedure?

Final update to this issue.
The vehicle does not have it's e-break engaged. It is showing it on the dash, though. The H2 moves in reverse & forward without any resistance. I have not taken it out on the road.

I can live without the cable working (breaks work, so that's all that matters). How do I fix the e-break light/e-break?

Check your e-brake pedal, it might be a little push down and trigger the switch, while pulling the e-brake release handle, push the e-brake pedal up and check the light.

You should do the e-brake cable mod that i did. This mod relocates the cable over the axle so it won't get caught on anything.

Thanks man. That's a really good idea.

I found a few youtube videos showing how to get it unstuck if that method won't work. I will try it later when I have time. As long as the vehicle can go from point A to point B, I'm set for now.

I'm going to replace both, since they are really dry rotted. Are these considered an acceptable replacement?

You said the e-brake we're not engaged, so the only culprit there is the e-brake pedal that loses the tension because of the broken cable. I only replaced mine with oem so i don't know about that cable, looks like a good quality and it's not made in china and that's a plus. lol.

I was able to pull the e-break back to it's proper position. It'll stay that way for a while.

I will probably pick up those 2 cables soon.
Thanks again for the help.

Did the brake warning light in the dash turned OFF?
