Boo-hoo that I replied in such a manner.

YOU are the one who began the GUN BS. All I did was respond in kind.

Negative, little goldfish. You began the anti gun BS on a previous thread, one I didn't even reply to. Noticed you attacked folks with ccw whom also have an interest in protecting their families, so I shared a little photo.

Can I go back to the original question/problem?

Won't the two-battery setup force the alternator to work excessively, thus killing it prematurely?

no. even if they were both low it would bring them up. i think the charging system limits current and voltage.

i have 2 for years,no problem.

Even if both batteries are 1,000 amps. Optimas?

I mean: It is, obviously, not the same to charge two of those behemoths than to charge one single 600 amps Exide!

In a related topic: Since my battery control module is not working properly, I thought of removing it altogether, but my mechanic told me that's a no-no, because, according to him, the alternator's output would be a constant 14.5 (aprox.) and that voltage would rapidly damage almost everything electrical in the truck. Is he right?

i wouldnt remove anything that controls the gen output, it knows what its doing..
the "1000" amp means nothing when charging.
trust me , lots of guys are running 2 batts. my 2nd is isolated with a big diode so it can never drain with the main one. to use it i jump it in.
