Default Driver's side control panel not illuminating

Hello:-),
I had the speaker changed on my 2006 Hummer H3 on the driver's side and now the control panel for the window and locks doesn't illuminate. The controls do work on both sides but only the passenger side illuminates. Can anyone help me troubleshoot please?

Thank you,

Take it back to the place that did your speaker change.

Hi Doc Olds and TAINTER (The Dynamic Duo):-), Thank you for coming to the rescue! Okay, so you don't think I should just do a bulb replacement? Do you think it's something that happened when the tech replaced the speaker or since Ethanhunt is over 10 years old; the bulb took its last breath? Ethanhunt was in a car accident in February and was at 70% threshhold for total loss. The supplemental estimate would have totaled him out. The adjuster suggested that I pay the supplemental costs and that's the route I went. Anyway, because the side airbags deployed this was the cause for the near total loss. I checked with a few dealers about allowing me to order my own parts which of course would be a great savings and coverage towards the supplemental costs. One dealer's collision department let me do it. The reason I received a "no" from the others is because I was told it would void the warranty on the parts and of course no extra money for selling me the parts. I ordered the parts from gmpartsdirect.com. Ethanhunt was under the knife for 6 weeks. I had to take him back a couple of times for overlooked items. The last time involved me not hearing the ding for the unbuckled seatbelt, keys left in ingnition, etc.. It was discovered that the driver's side speaker needed replacing and that was finished up almost 2 weeks ago. So, at this point do you think that the dealer will still honor it? Thanks in advance for your advice and help.

Thanks,
Ethan's Driver

The control illumination is not "a bulb". There are multiple bulbs illuminating various parts of the control cluster. If one of them burnt out only a part of the cluster would be dark.

The fact that they are all not lit after work was done in that area suggests that something was not done correctly when they put it back together.

Hi Bunger:-),
Thanks for educating me on this issue. I will take Ethanhunt back to the dealer. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can ask the technician to check or what they might try to say (so I can be prepared for any bull they try to come up with). This is really frustrating because I feel like Ethanhunt is an experiment because there are not really anymore Hummer techs:-(. Thank you for responding:-).
