There was 1/4" clearance on my '06 and it cracked at about 120k miles. My current '09 has zero clearance yet shows no cracks at almost 50k miles. I wouldn't worry about it, Rads. are cheap.

The key is a tighter mount = less movement to prevent a stress crack. I inserted a brass nipple inside the upper mount over 2 years ago on my $110.00 silla radiator replacement, and still have not lost 1 drop of coolant. Besides, the radiator still looks like new.
