My Son bought me a set of door sil plates for Christmasfor my H3x and I'm wondering if any of you out there in H3 land have installed these things yet. The door sils on my H3 are slightly rounded and the plates are flat so they rock[:@]. Other than cutting out and inlaying these things I can't see how to attach them. Any idea's?

I have been waiting to post pictures of my H3 until I installed my Christmas presents but I just found that I should wait for warm weather 60% or the tape won't stick. I'm pretty bummed as we live in Michigan so it will be quite a while before we see 60% again. My Wife and Son bought the sil plates, chrome billit antenna cover and a set of Vent vison reflectors for all the doors.

do the sill plates go over the factory ones or in place of the factory ones. All the ones I have seen go in place of the factory sills.

They just stick on
I bought a set never put them on because they are going to scratch to easy
But they did fit flat on the sil
The H2 has the nice ones it says HUMMER in rubber and they stick to the paint

 

Thats strange, the sils on my 2007 are not flat. The sil plates are but not the door sils on the H3. GM must have changed them between 2006 and 2007.

 

Check this out..this is an 06 driver's side door sill....is yours different?..If not, then I suspect you're suppose to bend them a little to make them follow the contour/curvature of the plastic sill.

 

I'm in michigan too...the way the weather has been so far, we wont be far from 60 the next few days!!!
It's those freakin people driving those H1's and H2's I tell ya...warming our planet one mile at a time.
