Does this sound right??
Just got off the phone with HUMMER service about my 07's brake pedal going to the floor & the brakes grabing when it is first applied in the morning orwhen it sits for a while. They say this is normal and nothing to be worried about.
I got the same story at the dealer with my Deuce.... plus my steering was unresponsive until I rev'd the motor...
Long story short my Power Steering fluid was low.... yet the dealer swore they checked all of the levels and the pressures and that I was within specs... and that I was not experiencing anything wrong.
Then I decided to do a once over on everything.
Once again I say BOOOOO NuCar.

The brake pedal will go down further than normal the first time you apply it. The brakes will also grab starting out due to surface rust that forms on the rotor.
Both are normal, the dealer is right, dont worry about it.

Thanks for the info!! This sets my mind at ease to a point, but why did it just start after 6 months?? Or is there just a possibility that it comes with wear to brake components??

that doesnt sound right to me, you need to have that checked out. the brake should not lock up at all and the brake pedal should not be going to the floor. overnight surface rust from condensation will not cause what your describing.
I agree with Stingrey. The things you are describing are beyond normal. If your brake pedal goes to the floor that is not good. I would have them check the brakes. possibly evac and replace the fluid to make sure you don't have any air in your lines. Sometimes the rotors will form surface rust that will take a few pedal applications to work off but it should be a mild rotor grab.
Sorry, I must have read too fast earlier. I still think the rest of it sounds normal, however, somehow missed where you said that it GOES TO THE FLOOR. Can't be good. Vacuum Leak in the brake system?

Rhill, you are right. The grabbing isn't that abnormal, especially in a car that doesn't get driven often. If it is a daily driver it should do that though. The brake pedal issue, if accurately described, needs attention asap. Lots of times when you start a car and have your foot on the brake the pedal will depress in some but to the floor is to much. Wrongway take it in and make them correct it.
