Default Does this sound possible?

I posted a few days ago about a rear tire vibration I have on my new 07 H3 which is mainly between 50-60MPH. Well I just got it back and the head service guy stated that there is nothing wrong with the veh. He said, that the vibration is being caused by the torque converter because of how lean the H3 is set to run due to the EPA standards. He also stated that there will be a flash for the chip which should be available in about 3 weeks to eliminate this. I am not that familar with car mecahnics but what???? The vibration does seem to go away when acceleratingand after 60 or so. The tires have been replaced and still the problem. Does this even seem possible.

Thanks to all

I've heard stranger stories that turned out to be true, but I've got to admit this one sounds pretty far-fetched. I have an '07 H3, and no tire wobble at any speeds. How a pcm upgrade can affect the physics of the torque converter, and indirectly the rear wheel vibration, is beyond me. I guess it gives him 3 weeks to come up with a better answer though. I have the same vibration. Between 50 and 60 I can feel the vibration under my feet. I've yet to have time to go by the dealer and have service check it out.

Just an update, I am really not staisfied with the response I got from the dealer. I am with you guys, this just does not sound right. I have contacted GM and had a file opened. They have instructed me to go to a second dealer which is actually closer to see what they find.
