..and keeping the XM system up and running. Is their a way to do this?? All of a sudden I dont like the fact that 'they' can track and take my vehicle at will. It's not paranoia...Just had a buddy get his vehicle repo'd He has onstar. He was a few days away from catching up. They took it and..wow.. GMAC is not a company you want to f around with...I am reading some of the blogs etc...anyway was just asking if it was doable. Seems no matter where ya are they can get ya..

The best way to make sure in no way can anyone from OnStar communicate with your vehicle would be to simply pull the plugs from the OnStar Module(VCIM). This will not affect any other moudles in the vehicle. The only thing the dealer will notice is when they try to communicate with it using a scan tool, they will recieve a message saying "Could not communicate with VCIM"
Also rememebr when you d\c the VCIM, you will not be able to use the hands free calling feature as it is built into the VCIM.
If you can turn a screw driver you shouldn't have too much problem getting at the module.
