Even better. One of these days I plan to turn all my chrome black (including the grill). I'll probably use bedliner for the grill. it's tough stuff and should be good for avoiding rock chips, but in your situation it sounds like vinyl wrap makes more sense. Easy access to the wrap, and easy to replace if it starts showing signs of wear.
