Default Dealer Invoice & Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection

THE H3 is back from head job!H3H3They did great head job. Had it back in less than 24 hours.
Invoice
CYLINDER 1&2 MISSFIRE DUE TO INTAKE VALVES LEAKING 90%
REMOVED CYLINDER ASSEMBLY, TRANSFERED CAMS, ROCKERS, AND ADJUSTERS TO NEW HEAD.
INSTALLED NEW HEAD ASSEMBLY. GASKET, BOLTS,COOLANT
I saw my H3 before I talked to anyone. It looked like someone rubbed crisco oil all over the front grill. It was all foggy and looked like it had a glaze film over it. They must of been like wtf is this guy doin, when I was cleaning it off with the shirt I had on. It has never looked that bad. I then could see 4 or 5 scratches on my grill. I look at that grill at least every other day.I make sure to get theseFlorida bugs off my grill, they eat right through the paint. I polish it with microfiber towel. I know every mark on that grill. Sux they put new ones there. A service guy walked by, said "It's clean isn't it" I said, uhhh,Yeaahh. I could see they polished the tires and cleaned the wheels. They missed a lot of areas on the wheelsthere were total black spots all over in the corners. I don't care, it helps, now I can go wash it myself. But I was thinking why is it that black, I never let my wheels get dirty like that. I wash my wheels inside out every week and im always pressure washing them.
I was thinking, is this even my H3 It was, thank god, I would of looked silly cleaning somone elses grill with my shirt.H3

Multi-point Vehicle Inspection
Check Tires: PSI@34 PSI set to 30PSi

Why does the Dealer put 30psi in my tires everytime?
Then my low tire warning always comes on. I have LT285/75R16 tires.
The more pressure I have in the tires, the H3seems to jump left/right.I think the lower the tire pressure the better the ride.
50psi is Max - 40psi - bounce L/R - I usually keep 34psi in. I would like to have higher PSI because more pressure the longer the tread lasts? This is the 4th time the dealer put 30PSi in. H3&nbsp

Sounds like a crappy dealer service if you ask me..[:@]

But when (and I haven't yet)I take mine in for any under the hood service, I wull take my grille off before I go..takes a whole 3 minutes and the grille is off..because I know myself you can't check the oil dip stick without leaning across the grille..how could they do and engine head and not lay on it?...they should have taken it off before they started the job, if they were acompetent service...

Besides the scratches on the grille, how does it run now?

I have the 285s and run 40 psi..all the time...I can afford to buy new tires every year because they've worn out due to under inflation..

Nice about the quick turnaround time, but it does sound like they were a little careless. Hope it runs great now!

Dennis, did you mean you CAN or CAN'T afford to buy new tires every year?

That could be dangerous! But I think we all knew what you meant. A guy who takes that much care of hisd truck is not likely to run his tires low.

Damn dude, I hate when mechanics are lazy and careless. When I took in my 93 suburban, they got black spots inside the interior, rather than laying some plastic down. Luckily it wasnt oil and was able to clean it off, it's old but I keep it clean. I like to think its the cleanest 93 around, atleast in Canada.(No clue why my writing went italic).

I've seen two head jobs performed in our shop over the last 2 weeks. our techs cover the sides and front with these special cloth blankets. Then when the truck is complete they take it to the reconditioning center in the back and they hand wash and polish the vehicle before it is given back to the customer. Haven't had any complaints yet about our service.
