I don't know but there are some posters who pretends to know it all...I'm sorry! but I went to a reputable auto shop closer to my place and had the front and rear differential fluid flush and refill. A poster was insisting that it only needs 2 quarts for each differentials to get the job done. As it only take 1.6 quarts for each differential (according to the poster), see the confirmation? Luckily I bought 6 quarts of the fluid or else it could have been a huge problem. Why is that?? (I don't want to get to the details why) It took 2 3/4 of fluid for each differential before the oil begun to escape from the fill hole. Oh mennn!!!

So based on my experience make sure you guys buy at least 6 quarts of differential fluid for your next change. It is not 1.6 quarts not even 2 quarts.
Anyhow, it was a great job and the guy ask for only $50 bucks for the labor. I bought the oil for $100 bucks, $150 for both differentials the dealer asks for $310, not bad for a savings of $150 bucks. (Canadian dollars of course!)

Thanks

Yeah dealers are a killer SOB. You can only have them all serviced for not even half their quoted amount including tax. As long as you look for a reputable auto shop who sometimes even allows you to watch while they do the job, you can be sure of a long lasting and safer change interval.

Next time I am pretty sure I can do it myself, that's why I start buying the tools needed for all those kind of services, they're so easy actually!

I would never do all that at 30K unless you'd beat the crap out of the H3. I changed both diff's at about 50K and the transmission at about 65K. Most of the rest of that is DPE maintenance (Dealer Profit Enhancing).

If I was in the same situaiton, and had some free time, I would challenge the dealer to justify each one of those services. As Bflank said, most of those are not necessary or even recommended by the owners manual at that interval. Replace power steering fluid at 30K, BULLS***, unless there is a known issue. If possible, I would find another dealer to work with. You do not want those dirtbags sapping you for extra $$$ when something does happen and you need it fixed. $55 for shop supplies, unbelievable. Thye are basically trying to charge you for paper towels and handwash.

Welcome.

Here is my advice. Do NOT post in 4 year old threads! Use SEARCH instead. READ your owners manual, and if you do not have one, they are on line for free.

Doc Olds,

If You Dont Want to Help Just dont reply at All. What You mean by 4 year old? Can a 4 year old own a Hummer H3 and Maintain It??? and know the oil needs to be changed at 80,000km on differentials, transfer case and transmission!!!! Keep your Ego down, this is the problem with society these days, majority has a BIG EGO and little in Human Values.
