Oh OK thanks for the clarification. I was always told that it's only the headlights. Well, you can turn them off by just turning the auto-headlight dial when you start the car. I guess everybody's complaint is that they don't want to be bothered by having to do that every time.

Let me get this straight...

My versions of the H3 has this;

When I start the buggy up if in the garage..the headlights and all the amber and red rear lights come on..if I rotate the light switch to off, they all go off...If I don't touch the switch and back out into the sun light my headlights go off and the amber/red lights (turn signal/tail light area) stay on...When I put it in park, they go off and put it back in gear they come on again.

And you-all are saying some of your's, the headlights stay on even in sun light and the ambers are off?...I'm confused..why the hell did GM make a bunch with different operating styles?..Don't make sense[sm=dontgetit.gif]

That's basically it. there were different setups on different batches of H3's. As I said with the whole thermostat issue, it looks like there were different batches of the H3's, perhaps made in different factories. Who knows. I think we are all starting to see that we have different models. I would bet that there is some kind of VIN digita that would identify who has what kind of hummer. VERY interesting. Unfortunately, I don't have the special hummer that has solar panels and a hydrogen power source, along with a flux capacitor and Mr. Fusion. IF I could only get my hands on THAT baby......

I'm almost positive they changed it because they realized that the orange lights are freakin' ugly.

I actually like the orange lights. They make the truck much more visible IMO. I have orange running lights on my CTS as well and the thing I like about both vehicles is that the oragne running lights make them look more menacing during the daytime. To each their own though!

Mole, I tend to agree with you on all accounts..

But my beef is why does the switch spring back to ON/Auto..I wish it stayed in the OFF position when I put it there ..sometimes I don't want the automatic feature employed and I hate having to cancel it each time I start up...

I know, I know...Waaaaaah[sm=shutup.gif]

I have the headlight drls...easy enough to shut off at every ignition cycle...but I found one downside to having the headlight drls and not the amber ones. When my right headlight was out and I forgot to shut off the drl's, I was constantly driving with one light on....too many freekin people stopping me to tell me about it...annoying as hell!! Plus I was going to go with a HID light conversion but ther's no way I'm going to have them things on ALL the time..too damn expensive... oh well..rant off
