Default Could this be part of the problem?

After looking under the hood I found a plug hanging loose with a burn mark on it, probably from resting on a hot surface. It's connected to the sensor in the exhaust manifold. Could this be causing my check engine light to come on and codes P00014 (cam actuator position) and P00300 (misfire)? '06 H3

I would say if the wires are intact then no, but maybe the metal tabs in the connector have become dislodged from the heat and are not lining up correctly
