Default Cleaning the roof?

How does everyone clean and wax the roof on your H2? I'm looking for a stable stool that is high enough.
On my truck, I can get the back half from the box, and the rest from opening the driver and passengers doors. But the H2 is proving to be a bit harder!

You're right, it's tough. I have hell cleaning my sunroof. I once climbed on the roof and sat on the crossbars. Not the best but it worked.

The first day I washed my 03 I used a lightweight alluminum step ladder to get the roof. I was washing the other side and I pulled the hose and it knocked the ladder over and put a nick in my paint. I dont worry about the roof anymore. I have it detailed twice a year and it seems to stay nice.

It really depends on how dirty the truck is.

If its just due for a wash and not been off-road I stand inside the front doors and only scrub from the windshield back to the back of the sunroof. I then use soap from the gun to go over the rest. And I always wash the roof first and rinse it thoroughly so most of the the dirt on there runs off onto the dirty sides before I wash the truck.

Now If I have been off-road and is just nasty I will just get up on the roof. Scrub and rinse, scrub and rise, scrub and rinse. You can walk on the roof of the truck. Its actually more stout than you might think. Before I had my rack I could walk all around the edges of the roof and it never made any buckling sounds. I bet I could have walked right down the center of it but never did. Be Very carefull walking up there though it gets slick as snot. I have had 3 deer at one time strapped directly to the roof with no buckling of any kind even on rough roads. If you have ever seen the inside of an H2 with out a headliner you will be amazed at all the reinforcement the roof has.

You can also walk on the hood on the flat section that is closest to the cowl. Keep in mind when you walk up there to go barefoot or make sure your shoes do not have any sand or pebbles stuck in them.

When my engine is a total mess I stand/kneel on the radiator core support to scrub and spray it out.

Just some FYI......I sat on top of my hummer waxing the roof one day. I am 190 pounds.

The next day the sunroof made an awful noise and I didnt even open it.
I remember sitting on my behind and sliding around waxing.....starting from the back to the front.

I took it to the dealership and they said somehow the gears got crushed.

I didnt say anything since it was warranty BUT they had to put a new sunroof in it and it would of cost me thousands.

Just FYI! I will never get on top of that truck again. I will just reach with a standard ladder everywhere.
