I have a 2006 H3 and my check engine light is stuck on and when I take the key out the light stays on, I mean I get to the truck in the morning and the light is still on constantly. I went to dealer and he said they have never had this issue and they said the can start by replacing the instrument cluster and if that doesn't work then got the PCM and the wire harness.....please help

 

Wow thats nuts. It might even perhaps be the ecu?

2 books,11 pounds,18 page index,1000's of pages,,,and i cant find a xxxx thing

so i guess,,i do know computer interfacing. the brain either sends 5v to an led to light it or all the leds are connected to 5v and the brain pulls one line to ground to lite that led.

that sounds like the problem, the line is stuck low at the brain, or the wire is grounded.
u could unplug controllers,? which one?, till the light goes out to ident the bad one, or move/wigglee cables to see if a wire is shorted. i tend not to think of shorts,,,but?

ill look more but its frustrating, the wiring info is scattered over 100's of pages, a mess

i would not let them change the inst panel just to try!!!
