Could it have been P0300??

Did the light just flash or did it stay on?

and for what it is worth... I think you have two issues... I think the speedo is just something that happened at the same time...

If the truck is acting normally... then there may not be anything truly wrong... but..

Do you use cheap gas?
How many miles?
Has it ever been tuned up?

For more info:
http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_cod...e-detected.php

code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
[ul][*]Faulty spark plugs or wires[*]Faulty coil (pack)[*]Faulty oxygen sensor(s)[*]Faulty fuel injector(s)[*]Burned exhaust valve[*]Faulty catalytic converter(s)[*]Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages[*]Faulty camshaft position sensor[*]Defective computer [/ul]

Well... remember I posted recently that I stood on it pretty hard and my CEI flashed....

I did a tune up and filled it up with 29 gallon of Sunoco and it never repeated itself... so... I did do a little research...

my check engine light came on last weekend. I purchased an actron cp9180 code reader on sale at the local adv. auto for less than $150. said it was lean bank sensor. I cleared the code and hasn't been on since. figured bad gas. definately a nice piece of equipment to have around for just such an occasion.

If your cap was off.... and you fixed it... it will go out in a few engine cycles...

if you reset the computer but disconnecting the battery it will also clear... usually.
