Never seen a change oil light. H3s have a CHANGE OIL scroll on the DIC.
Oil light is totally different and usually not good.

Default explained message, not a light!

what i mean is i got a message that i need to change oil. the message shows up on the dic as words, "change oil". after changing oil i attempted to clear the message as described in my h3 instruction book.
i cannot clear the message,"change oil"

i tried every thing the book says, sounds simple but has no effect. im sure its something simple!! that im missing. i dont do it often..

i should have said, the message"change oil', LIGHTS UP on my dash display..

Close your doors, turn the ignition on and depress the accelerator 3 times quickly. It's not in the book but it works.

Or like in my 2006 do this:

Remember to reset the oil life system whenever the oil and filter is changed.
1. Turn the ignition to RUN with the engine OFF.
2. Press and release the reset button in the driver information center (DIC) until the OIL LIFE message is displayed.
3. Once the alternating OIL LIFE and RESET messages appear on the DIC display, press and hold the reset stem until several beeps sound. This confirms the OIL LIFE system has been reset.
4. Turn the key to lock. If the CHANGE OIL message comes back on when you start the engine, the ENGINE OIL LIFE system has not reset. Repeat the procedure

Just make sure you hear all the beeps.
