If you're referring to removal, remove the round rubber insert on the inside edge of the door of the handle to be removed. You will see a screw inside that must be removed.
Careful not to drop it down into the door.
The door handle will then slide to the side and can be removed from door.

in your dreams!!! covers must come off first, after the bolt that doesn't do much.

the covers are almost impossible, they come off first. then you struggle with the inside if the handle, praying for not too many broken pieces.
to disconnect/reconnect the control rods I consider it impossible without the 4x4 inch holes I cut. I did three sides so I can bend back and not loose one trim clip hole.
so 2 more hours and im now resting after three attempts to sit the two hinges back on the pins, looks easy,,,not!!
btw, forget the manual instructions for removing the 4 hinge bolts. just pull the two small silver bolts and lift the door off. that is ez, redoing it is not.

ill have pictures when im finished.

Good Luck, your project sounds tedious
This is what I was referring to. I have changed two handles when they were broken

oh yeah!,,i saw that page and really had hope. but as I looked at it I could not figure out what it meant! I still don't know.
getting at the key lock is very difficult. the entire handle bracket has to come out. the holes I cut made it possible. otherwise you cant see the two rods, you'd be working blind. as I did it it was rough, lots of dripping blood. I swapped the whole assm into the new door.
im back together xcept for the door hold open rod. I cant figure how to extend it out for its bolt,,,manyana!

I've replaced several. The first time I felt like you, and you're right. You can't really see what you're doing, but it can be done without cutting anything. It's tedious and a PITA, but it can be done.

I'm gonna have to do this one of these days. Once I get tired of hearing the kids whining about it.

[QUOTE][ xcept for the door hold open rod. I cant figure how to extend it out for its bolt,,,/QUOTE]

just to finish this, I bolted a piece of strong wire to the door frame with the rod bolt and ran the wire through the rod, held tight and pushed the door open, clamped the rod with vice grips, got a new bite on the wire and repeated until the rod was extended and it clicked, staying out. removed the wire.
I could then bolt it securely and the job is done. NOT a lot of fun.

Default pix i forgot

see what I couldn't till I butchered an opening. the key lock and latch rods are unhooked here. the door handle must be removed as it mounts the key assm from the inside, not like the old days. the book is ZERO help getting the handle apart. you learn as you do it!!
