Default Center Console loose

Just replaced the 2 lights under the center console shift indicator. I removed the shifter and my center console (with cup holders) lifts straight up with no resistance. I'm obviously missing some tabs or something is broken. Any one have any idea what holds this console down and can I fix this without buying a new console. The only time I notice the loose console is when it lifts slightly when a tight drink is in the cup holder. This is a 05 h2... Thanks.

Default dash part

The part you are referencing is called a GM dash retaining clip. They are usually sold in packets of 25. All the clips are the same regardless of the year made.

These clips are attached to the small plastic tabs on the underside of the console.

I have a few left that I could send to you. (depending on how many I have vs how many you need).

Default clips

I found earlier a answer to my question on the elcovaforums.com but they have disabled joining so I couldn't ask to find out what where i could get these clips. I need them for the cup holder console and this picture does show with the red arrows the 3 clips I need. Do these type clips look familiar?

the problem is if you've taken that top trim off a few times those clips start to chew up the thin plastic they are attached too.

I have a few of those clips. But like LoJac said, if you open the console often, the holes begin to get softer thus needing to add something wider to help compensate for the wider slats.

You could put a new clip on then add a few tiny pieces of duct tape layered across the clip to help make the clips wider that will make them stay tighter when installed.

I agree, there were no clips when I bought the truck a few months ago. The plastic actually looks in fairly good condition, there are just no clips. Do you have any ideas where I can purchase the clips shown in the pics I posted. Thanks.

ok, one more time.....................lets start over.

I have the clips you're looking for.

But if you really want to purchase them, then I'll step out.

I got your PM, it didnt say how many but I found it here, so disregard my question in your PM. I'll get them out to you later this week.

Let me know when they come in so I know you got them.

Wow, I have been dealing with this issue for a couple months. Just ordered 25 of them from Amazon for $8.99. I didn't even think to ask that question. Thanks
