Was wondering if anybody has any suggestions. On my 05 SUT my center console squeaks horriblywhen anybody leans on it or puts any weight on it. Does anybody have the same problem and if so, any idea how to fix it?

To clarify, it is just the center console lid that squeaks on the plastic of the actual console.

 

Do you have the Ebony interior?? Then we're talking about the Black Leather console.

Or the Wheat with the Wheat Plastic console??

 

you could rub some silicone lubricant on it, but it's plastic against plastic and the squeak is just going to come back eventually. tell your friends not to lean on it . . . . .

 

Stick some velcro to the underside of the lid. Just use the soft side of the two pieces of the velcro to act as a buffer.

 

did you already tighten the screws??? there is a lot of pieces to that console....

 

How does the color impact the squeak?

I just know that when I had the WHEAT console, it squeeked, but my Ebony one doesn't!!!![8D]
