Default CE Light on

Threw my scanner on it - multiple cylinder misfires. Brought it to the dealer - yup that's what it is but it is intermittent and they can't figure it out. A few weeks ago the "check engine" was due to a "throttle body" which was replaced only to have theCE light come back on two days later. They insist it can't be a head problem as they haven't seen or heard of one in an '07 (my build date is 10/06).
I am still able to drive it, but this is getting frustrating.

Oh yeah, I would love to send my PCM back to PCMforless since the dealer re-flashed it after my tune, but it doesn't pay to do so until this issue gets resolved. What a PIA.

Educate me here.....does it mean that you lost everything PCMForLess did for you when the dealer "re-flashed" it? If so, this is upsetting. I don't want to pay to have my PCM programmed if the dealer could just re-set it to default.

Nothing to stress over. Your dealer CAN reset the PCM by reflashing it, but it is not likely they will. If you have it in for servicing, the only reason they may do this is if you have it there to look at a specific problem (rough idle, bad mileage, etc) that may be controlled by them PCM. If overly worried, you could pre-warn them and ask they not flash it. If they do, PCM4less will reflash for no fee, other than shipping IIRC.

Check your coil packs. You can examine your plugs too for anything that looks uneven.

Just got the call - "After much testing and discussion, it turns out it you need a replacement head." [>:]
Heck, my wife could have told them that !!

Build date is 10/06 - yes, I added it to the "head" thread.

What B.S.

Is this the first someone has posted of an '07 H3 with a head issue? I think so. Bummer.

CCMDoc, Did they give you any specifics as to why it needed a head?? Like what cylinder is being effected and did they do a leak down on that cylinder? We had 1 07 for a cylinder head issue #5 cylinder and don't remember the leak down but 5 was missing at idle. GM wanted that head back with the valves and springs left in that cylinder. The head fixed the truck and has not been back. We are seeing 06's in the vin range regulary now but parts seem more available now. Sorry to hear about your truck and hope they get it running good for you again soon. Steve
