Default Can I use 50w or 60w oil in my 3.5 ltr?

Hello, I have a 2006 H3 3.5 liter and I want to use a straight 50w or 60w oil. would anyone know if this could harm this motor? I'm pass my warranty and I live in southern california. I currently use VR1 60w in my other cars and bikes and like it very much so I want to now use it in my H3. thanks for your input.

Mark

Uh....... First you do not need it. Second, do your other cars and bikes have a straight aluminum 5?

Use full synthetic at the weight in your Manual, that is why the write the book.

Depending on the year of make of your other cars and bikes. Straight weight oil is going to slowly damage the motors and you are not getting your best gas mileage. Clearances in motors have become smaller and smaller, thus the lighter weight oils. Using straight weight went out in the 70s. Do yourself a favor, check all your owners manuals and go with the recommended weight for the vehicle. If you want better performance then put in full synthetic..........
