I am looking for 1 general grabber at2 305/70/16. I bought 4 about 8 months ago which is all the dealer had in stock not knowing that no one now has them. I have called general and they aren't making them right now. Does anyone know of someone or someplace I can find one. I am even considering buying used one from someone as long as it is in good shape. Just need it for spare. I have 08 H3. I have been looking since march.

Were are you located? We can get General and I know they had 315's in stock when I was looking up tires for a customer last week. I am not sure about the 305's but I can check tomarrow morning when I get to work.

 

I am located in WV. I had another dealer today call General and they said they were still not making them and they gave no date to when they would resume. So it would be okay possibly to go with different make of tire as long as it is similar tread.

 

For just a spare, pretty much any AT of the same size will be fine. Like ava327 said, the tread pattern is very similar to BFG AT/KOs if you are trying to match them as close as you can..

 

Just checked with our vendor and they are out of stock. Must be just that size because they have plenty of the 285's and 315's in stock. For a spare you will be fine with another tire in the same size. Maybe pick up something used until they resume production.

 

A 285/75/16 tire would be the same diameter. It would be OK as a spare.

 

It would be OK but keep in mind the added width of a 305 on a narrow rim will affect the height. They measure the same height when the 285 is mounted on a 8" wide rim and the 305 is mounted on a 9" rim.

Again it should be fine for a spare but with it being AWD, I would keep it to an absolute minimum. Meaning only using it to drive on to get the tire fixed or replaced.
