Default Can anyone help with the removal of rear vents over tail lights?

Hello everybody, first of I wanted to thank everyone who is a regular at this forum. As a first time Hummer owner I have gleaned some priceless information through the great posts this community has commented on!

Now if you wouldn't mind I have a simple question...I hope. I have an '06 H2 that I am trying to strip all the chrome off of. Most everything is straight forward, using this site for help, but I've come to the rear vents over the tail lights. From what I've googled, it seems they are probably double sided tape on? But does anyone know the proper way to remove these? I would like to keep them intact so they can be painted black. Oh also, I believe these are the cheap plastic ones, not the aluminum one. Thank you again for such a great community!

If there the stick on ABS chrome covers like you said, then just carefully peal back till they let loose and the original vents should be under them. No need now to paint black I would think. Hope this helps, I actually had some ABS covers on a few items that I just carefully pulled on till they let go to reveal the stock black ABS

That was perfect! Thank you so much! I separated the plastic chrome from the original plastic, and after a little cleaning, beautiful black vents! Thank you!

Wherever you work you deal with GM stiff, you wouldn't happen to know a part number for the clips that attach to the rear tail lights themselves and help hold the light in? I broke 2 of them removing my tail lights, thanks!
