Called my service dept today.......geez......
wow, sounds like Maine is a tough part of the country to work with dealerships
my experience has been completely opposite with mine, and it's the only Hummer dealership in the state

hdbertill,
Well I'm trying to work it out with one of the sales managers right now.....hopefully they will do the right thing......I'll have to wait and see. I am supposed to receive a fax at my shop, with what they will do for me...yes the salesman was Mike. He's nice, but in my experience with him, he says things without thinking first. Yesterday in dealing with Mike, he seemed to be bothered that I was there. He didn't like the fact that I started asking questions like why he didn't call me back last week when he said he would, etc. I don't like talking about anyone, and I'm not that type of person to do so.....all I will say is that he seemed nice at first, but then there was a lot of things that didn't add up, that he told me.
They have some Hummers stored up at the Chevy dealership and this is where the Alpha was.......
I will let you know once my steering shaft comes in... and I have another appointment....right now I have to wait till the part arrives. In regards to the service dept., I was treated great and they did everything that they could yesterday...now I just need the rest of the fix done.......

I'm kind of puzzled as to why he even bothered to call you and tell you that he DID have what you wanted after all
I "kind of" work in sales, and I can tell you that word of mouth is the best (or worst in this case) of advertising. Just doesn't make any sense to me. Sorry you are having a bad expierence with all of this, and like Mike said, please don't think this is how they all do business. My dealer is courtious and great to deal with. I sincerly hope that it all gets better for you. I hate seeing people being taken advantage of.

Yeah it doesn't make sense to me either....I don't understand why he did that....his initial call was to see how I liked my H3 that I had just bought......and then he proceeded to tell me what he had......It was like a slap in the face to me....but who knows.....
Like I said earlier, I'm waiting to see if the dealer will make it right......I'm not mad at the dealership per say....just at the salesman....and I know the dealer can't be held liable for what one individual did or said.
Hopefully they do something fair with you. Technically he is correct in that you now have a used vehicle that cannot be sold as new and that they will have to sell for less. If the dealer really wanted to make things right they would take your car back, use it as a demo for awhile and then sell it as a demo. They would then cut the best deal they could for you on the Alpha. Maybe you would owe them something extra but nowhere near 9.5K. Not sure how or ifthey could recover the sales tax, registration, etc. Good luck.
Well, they can't legally sell it as a demo because it has been titled out. But it's not like the dealer doesn't have enough money to eat in order to make it right. They wouldn't lose THAT much. Granted, I know that would never happen.

I called Pape today to schedule my service and the service guy Chris knew exactly what I was talking about and said yesterday they had one in for the same problem. He said the part was back ordered but since I scheduled my service for a couple days after the super bowl it should be in by then. Hope they take good care of you, especially since you have a couple hour drive.
