Default Is this CAI For real?

In my frantic search for search for a CAI that will not only increase HP but also be cost effective, I ran across these on ebay. Can this be right?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...link:middle:us

Most others cost at least twice as much and the most I have seen as far as HP gains is around 18 on the K&N. This thing touts around a 25 HP gain AND they have a dyno graph to prove it. Thoughts? Am I missing something here?

I will add snake oil and magnets to double the power gain!!!!

First, the pic of the thing installed in the engine bay is apparently not what they are selling. The mandrel bends they claim are in a plastic flex pipe that sell for appx $30.00 USD, and are not mandrel at all? Next, the filter they have is what???? Finally as I have said many times, that is not a cold air intake. Where does the cold air come from? The stock system grabs more cold air than that from the inner passenger fender.

Last, duno results are notreally applicable to real world driving, but are useful in testing tuning, to make sure you are moving in the correct direction. So, the variables that we do not know about lead me to believe the dynonumbers are innacurate in that application. Example, was the hood left open when pulls were done, was the engine at operating temp, what was the air temp and humidity at thetest time, what was the elevation, was the PCM stock, was the intake the only thing being tested for that improvement.....on and on?

In the mean while, I suggest a K&N or other brand peformance filter.

Be patient, there is a better top qualityand realsystem on the way to be pricedaround $150.00. Stay tuned.

See! I love this guy. Thanks. I knew you'd, with your infinite amount of car know-how, would have an answer. But Doc...I AM IMPATIENT! How long must I wait? I have been watching the K&Ns on ebay, and the Airraids. They are both the same price ($199.99) but leaning toward the Airraid just because they have free shipping...is that a silly reason to go with a brand?

But seriously...is it going to be a profesh job or a shade-tree mechanic do-hickey? True CAI? Is this the first time you've dropped a hint of it on the forums?

Hypothetically, it would be made of steel, an easy anybody can do bolt on in approx 30 minutes with basic hand tools (if they can follow instructions) and has features and quality not available anywhere else.

So the beans stay in the can until the 06/07 H3 testing is complete, 3-5 weeks hypothetically.
Hypothetically, my nephew would have just leased an 08 soa system for itwould be hot on the tails of the original and there are no kits for the 08 yet anywhere.
Well I guess that ebay thing does says 08?

haha, yeah...the ebay thing says a lot of things :-)

If you need a test hummer (of course...you have your own, I suppose), I'd pay for materials if you wanted to use mine. Reason I ask is I am going to be purchasing in the next couple of weeks. Probably before yours is done and CAIs are one of those things that once you get them, you don't really buy more.

Symbiosis as I see it.
