Hi guys,

First of all I just wanted to say hi to everyone. Been a Hummer enthusiast since I remember. Now I saved up some $ for my very own H2. There isn't much choice in Poland when it comes to Hummers (either the price is ridiculous or the car is pretty beat up).

Anyway I found a nice offer for a damaged H2 which I wanted to return to its former glory . If you guys could share your thoughts on this I would be more than grateful. I just need to know what I am getting myself into.

The exterior doesn't look too terrible. I think there is nothing better than bringing a vehicle back to its former glory. However with the H2 there are quite a few parts which are hard to come by, especially the interior parts. Drivetrain is shared by many GM platforms so that isn't an issue but H2 specific parts you are either going to pay a chunk of money or flat out not be able to track them down.

 

The interior looks nice and its good it has the black, the nice thing about the black gut is you can also use the wheat color and dye it black if worst came to worst. But like LoJac mentioned interior parts aren't easy to come by and can be very very expensive. (i can't even imagine what you would pay in Europe)

If it were me I would want to have a friend at a body shop look at the damage and provide you an estimate to repair it all. Then add that to the sale and to make the determination if its worth it to repair it of purchase another unit.

I notice also it only has only 1 of the headrest dvd player monitors, What happened to the driver side? Make sure it didn't have other audio equipment in it and someone ripped it out prior to trading.

 

Ya I agree with the guys. Interior is really expensive, but the inside didn't seem bad. The only exterior parts you need (as far as I can tell)

-Drivers front door (a good shop might be able to fix the one thats there)
-Passenger front door
-Passenger rear door
-Passengers side glass (both doors)
-Hood latch
-Some bodywork and a fresh coat of paint.

(you can just take off the dented side-step for now)

How much does that translate to in U.S currency ($)?

I noticed the rear bumper pushed in quite a bit tho. That tow hook is connected right to the frame so if it was hit it might have a twist in it :/

Thanks for all your feedback. I was there today having a look at it. Overall the interior is in good condition. I like the black leather interior it's quite rare in the H2's here. the price would be around 14 000$ USD. I know that can be quite pricey for your market but believe me they aren't as easy to come by here and thats why the price is a bit high. The reason for the single monitor in the back is that the guy had just one kid in his family and there was no reason for a 2nd one. I'll let you know how things will go from here. If the guy agrees to trade in my old one its smooth sailing.

 

It doesn't look too bad to me. I think the price is not bad either. I say go for it. I would imagine you will be like a rock star driving an H2 in Poland.
