Brushguard Functionality questions

OK. I know this many be redundant or possibly dumb to ask, but, here is the brushguard I am contemplating buying:

Obviously I know it protects the front end of your H3 or any vehicle from three limbs, branches, etc. from scratching up your front end, BUT, is it strong enough to protect your grill from things like hitting a deer or accidentally rear-ending someone or something if you slide into them, or is it just going to bend your chasis where it's bolted in or snap the bolts off?
I never had one, and the reason I'm asking because I really don't care if the front grill gets scracthed, because it's going to regardless of what I do with all the driving I do, but because I will probably take many road trips with this, I'm wondering if it's effective against hitting animals and preventing the collision from damaging your radiator and things like that. That would be the main reason I get it.
Last summer we took a 5300 mile road trip all over the country, and I saw many instances of what happens when someone hits a deer, and it's actually scary to see that could possibly cause more damage then hitting another car.

I guess that the amount that it protects your rig depends on how sturdy it actually is... here is what happened when The Riddler hit a Honda Accord w/ his brush guard... it obviously didn't hurt his truck

If you take something like a Prius or a 300zx, the hood is low and sloped up, and you're just asking for the deer to come through the windshield to say hello. If you take an H2, even a jumping deer will wind up going under.
A brush guard can make sure nothing goes over the hood (not going to happen with an H3) and save you from small impacts. I've heard that brush guards can worsen frame damage in big impacts by transferring the impact to the frame, but as (most?) so many trucks in deer country have brush guards, i assume thats just an urban legend.

First off, whats the deal with the download speed of pictures on this website today? maybe it's just my network connection.
Anyway, I think you'll be fine with that brushguard. It looks more solid than the OEM one that I have on my truck. Again, it all depends on the collision how it protects you. Either way, it should help.

Well, that picture you sent me looks like a good quality solid steel bar. I'm sure the stainless steel ones for 400 bucks are probably hollow. That may actually be good to absorb the impact. The issue with the possibility of the frame bending is what I was worried about and that's why I posted the question. I guess it would be better to have your grill and lights broken then to have your frame bent. I just don't want to be stranded somewhere. I may just forget about getting it. It's alot of money to spend to just want it for looks, and since 99% of my driving is in city areas, I won't be hitting any deer anytime soon

Thanks. that's what I wanted to know. No wonder they can sell it for $429. I can't justify spending that much money for a bar that just looks good (no offense) and isn't solid enough to withstand an impact. Maybe I'll just be the only H3 owner to own a Bug Deflector and call it a day
