All shops are busy in west texas at this time with oilfield equipment maintenance. Almost either at Midas or do it myself the hard way. Either way I want it done right. Just don't have a lot of time to do it myself, before my work rotation date.

There is a quick fix bracket! I just happened across. Supposed to fix the leak without the fix. They were only like 30 bucks was thinking I would have liked to tried it before I paid $700.00 to have my bolts removed and replaced. BTW broken rear exhaust manifold bolts are a really common issue that can cause you to throw codes for O2 sensors and other things that are not broken.

Yes I have viewed the brackets but would
Rather have it fixed right instead of a bandaid.

They will be at the machine shop for 2-3 days. Be about $200ish and that's clean, deck, valve job.
Then a day to put back together.
I'm in Niceville--where are you at? $200 to do both heads, remove, clean, deck and valves? I've just got the exhaust leak, don't know which bolt yet--what am I looking at not to pull the heads?

$200ish is the machine shop work. Not my work. Id help you for a few cold ones.
My machine work was $244, but I had them setup some non-stock springs.....

mine were broken, 4 on each bank they removed the exhaust and removed the bolts with a extractor, then replaced them with the same, All new stock bolts from GM,.and used never seize on them in case of future problems........

They advised me if the extractor, did not work, the heads would have to be pulled and redone in a shop, luckly with the help of pb blaster, they all came out.....

Good Luck,Rick

Received call today 2 studs on left side were removed and waiting on new manifold as it was warped. Probably could surfaced it but new might be better and faster. They will check right side Monday and repair as necessary. Cost to date is $518.00 before right side.

$554.45 out the door. Replaced manifold, bolt kit , extracted 2 broken bolts and fixed rattling heat shield on muffler. Great day did not have to remove heads.

That's about right, during last years miserable winter my deuce popped 2 studs and I didn't feel much like messing with it. Mine was $500 ish including the new manifold from the GM dealer with labor & tax.
